Hearts and Hands at Cider Creek is a unique retreat and healing center located in Albion on the Mendocino coast of northern California. The five bedroom 1860s farmhouse, cedar sauna house, outdoor spa, expansive decks, and 1,000 square foot workshop space with dormitory rooms above, are set on five private acres of apple orchards, meadows, landscaped gardens, all surrounded by a sacred circle of trees.
What began in the 1800s as a homestead and eventually a working apple farm has become a destination for yoga and spiritual retreats, reunions and celebrations of family and friends, quilting and creative arts workshops, music and movement, and training intensives in all areas of the healing and therapeutic arts.
The center has been lovingly furnished with 19th century antiques and folk art from 35 years of collecting. Each bed in the farm house is covered with an antique handmade quilt. Many years of spiritual exploration and practice have enabled me to sensitively create a safe and sacred healing environment to inspire and nurture your group.
The farmhouse, the sauna house, and our dormitory space can comfortably accommodate groups up to eighteen people, and arrangements can be made for larger groups on an individual basis.
The center is always rented in its entirety which means that you will have exclusive use of the property for your stay with us.
Massage therapy is available for our guests. Nympha Cole
offers aromatherapy, face and body treatments, intergrative
body work, chakra balancing, energy work, foot massage
with salt foot bath and other additional modalities of
massage therapy. She
can reached at 707-937-1463 or pacific@mcn.org for
an appointment and information. WATSU Aquatic Bodywork, Zen Shiatsu in
warm water, is available from Michele Tellier who can
be reached at 707-937-2067 or watsu@halekai.us.
We can also recommend local caterers who can provide
healthy and nurturing meals for your stay with us.
The healing
spirit of Hearts and Hands is gentle and loving. My spiritual path and
personal joy and commitment is to create a safe and graceful environment
providing each guest with a loving and deeply personal venue to support
optimum growth and healing while they reside at the center, and when
they return to their lives and their worlds away from the center.
Many students who come on spiritual retreats choose Hearts and Hands as a gathering place for their families and friends at a future time. And each time a guest returns, they enjoy the continued evolution and nurturing of the house and land, be it a heart shaped stepping stone path, a new hedge of flowering rose bushes, a new quilt on the wall or bed, or simply a new season at a place where nourishment is palpable, where love and care radiate from the house and land.
Kwan Yin, Goddess of compassion, awaits your visit.
Many Blessings
