The Farmhouse
The main house, which was built in the 1860s, is filled with my many years of collecting antiques and folk art. Antique quilts adorn all the beds and walls, and each room is filled with the texture of many antique treasures. A photograph of my grandmother, Anna Reuther, greets you on the mantle in the living room.

There is careful and sensitive attention to detail throughout the house. The library is filled with a wealth of books from great novels to spiritual tomes. The full equipped country kitchen has all you'll need to prepare a delicious feast to enjoy in the charming dining room.

The comfortable blend of antique and new furniture in the living room welcomes you as you and your family or group enjoy an evening fire or choose to stretch out in the bay window on a cold winter day warmed by the winter sunshine. The feeling and spirit of the old house is sweet and nurturing. You have the sense of being surrounded with love and history...and removed from your busy life...transports to a time when life was more simple and slow and peaceful.

The color and texture of the old floor boards take you there...the sun reflecting a rainbow of colors through the many stained glass windows transport you...the patterns of the antique quilts: ocean waves, wedding ring, duck's foot...move you to another time. The framed ribbons dated 1913...1914...from our prize apples reminds you of another century lived on the farm.

The copper kettle softly singing time for afternoon tea quiets you into a gentle reverie. You are held and comforted by this ancient homestead as it cares for you in the present with the richness and solidness of the past.
