Grounds and Gardens
The grounds at Hearts and Hands are varied and inviting with each season offering a particular spirit and texture. Enjoy the many decks overlooking the creek, meadows and orchards. The gardens have been landscaped for your full enjoyment of the lush and abundant beauty of the Mendocino coast of northern California.

Enjoy sharing meals outside in front of the big house next to the flowering roses, or at several picnic tables on the deck under towering trees, or under the grand Gravenstein next to the Sauna House. A family of deer might be munching fallen apples in the summer orchard nearby.

In springtime, sit tucked under the Flowering Quince and wild roses listening to the soft waters of the fountain in our beautiful meditation garden. A collection of heart rocks catches your eye as you walk down to the Workshop Space under our cascading white wisteria. The elegance of our ancient Dogwood in full bloom is breathtaking. In summer our many apple and pear trees are filled with nature's bounty. And the spicy fragrance of homemade applesauce fills the country kitchen.

Buddha and Kwan Yin greet you with compassion and loving kindness as you walk on the land and enter the many buildings at the center...always bringing you home to yourself.
